In times like these we are living now, it is hard not to hope for the situation to turn for the better.

However, even though we are still full of hope for the turnaround, we have to be rational.

Before going further, allow us just go through the status as is now:

Yesterday the World Health Organisation has declared the novel COVID-19 virus outbreak a pandemic.

As of today, the Croatian government is to declare a ban on all types of events for more than 100 people.

Same as our neighbouring countries, Croatia has closed most of the borders. Also, the USA has closed flights to Europe.

Even though at the moment the spread of the coronavirus in Croatia is still slow and low in the number of persons infected by it, as a precaution measure, from tomorrow, all educational facilities will be closed in Istria with pupils and students directed to homeschooling and online education. Similar actions are being taken in our neighbouring countries.

We had long and serious discussions with our Local Government and Health Institutions of which we are obliged to follow the directives.

We also had thorough consultations with the local community, our partners, our sponsors, our volunteers, and our mentors to whom we are grateful for their help and support.

We are almost five weeks away from the race, the organisation of the race is already in the final stage, with all logistics in place, but only one step from setting everything into action together with our partners, volunteers and supporters.

However, we are aware that this situation is completely out of our control and we know that no person could guarantee that April would be coronavirus-free, still please know that this was THE HARDEST DECISION we were forced to make.

The new dates of the race are 24 – 27.09.2020.

We kindly ask you to understand and respect our decision given the current conditions.

In the next 24 hours, we will be sending an e-mail with information related to how to proceed further to all our registered competitors.

Please, understand we will be doing everything in our power to bridge over this situation as quickly as possible thus we kindly ask you not to send us emails and messages as we will not be able to answer them in an orderly fashion.

Each competitor will receive an e-mail in the next 24 hours.
